What is matcha?

Matcha refers to the way in which the Green Tea is processed. The leaves are grinded using stone mortars in the traditional processing way known as “Matcha”. This ancient technique does not use any heat which could damage the living nutrients contained in Green Tea.

What is ceremonial grade matcha?

Ceremonial Grade Matcha is the highest quality matcha available – made from only first harvest green tea leaves. In Japan this grade of matcha is traditionally reserved only for green tea ceremonies.

It has a sweet and full-bodied aftertaste, far from astringent and bitter like other green teas.

It has a beautifully bright-coloured and outstandingly excellent flavour.

What are the benefits of Matcha

Matcha contains high levels of L-theanine, an amino acid that has been shown to promote calm and relax the body and mind.

Ceremonial grade matcha is rich in antioxidants including catechins. Catechins are believed to assist with a whole range of bodily functions.

How to make a matcha latte

Step 1. Add a bit of boiling water and a teaspoon of Matcha to a small bowl and whisk until froth appears.

Step 2. Heat some milk of your choice and whisk into the bowl.The addition of milk is optional, you can always just mix into water to make a Matcha tea.
